Youth in Action Programme
Youth in Action is non-formal learning programme in European Union which is dedicated to youth from age of 13 to 30. This program is being implemented from 1st January of 2007 until 31st December of 2013. Its budget is 885 million Euros. Youth in Action is follow-up of programme Youth.
Youth in Action foresees five operational Actions:
- Youth for Europe – youth exchanges, youth initiatives, youth democracy projects
- European Voluntary Service
- Youth in the World – youth exchanges, networking and cooperation with European and other countries
- Youth Support Systems
- Support of European cooperation in the youth field
Youth in Action aims to inspire a sense of active European citizenship, solidarity and tolerance among young Europeans and to involve them in shaping the Union's future. It promotes mobility within and beyond the EU's borders, non-formal learning and intercultural dialogue, and encourages the inclusion of all young people, regardless of their educational, social and cultural background: Youth in Action is a Programme for all!

In general, for most program forms you need at least two cooperating countries, that is why it is important to know Eligible and Programme countries.

Participants from Programme countries can participate in all Youth in Action projects and activities without any limits.
Neighboring Partner Countries

If you want to make project with these countries, you should know some rules. In one project there can be just one country from one region, for example you cannot take South East European countries and Mediterranean Partner countries.
Terms for applying
For programme Youth in Action there are five application deadlines per year:
1 February - projects starting between 1 May and 30 September
1 April – projects starting between 1 July and 30 November
1 June – projects starting between 1 September and 31 January
1 September – projects starting between 1 December and 30 April
1 November – projects starting between 1 February and 31 June
You can submit your project in “Agency for International Programs for Youth”. The deadline is until 16:00 in the last day of applying term. You can also send them through post to government agency “Agency for International Programs for Youth” Teatra str. 3, Riga, LV-1050, Latvia (with the post stamp not later then the last day of term).
Trainings
“Agency for International Programs for Youth” organizes trainings to support those who write projects. Trainings are meant for all – starting from beginners who have never written a project as well as for those who have experience and want to write special projects with special goals and target groups. To apply for trainings you have to fulfill the form. Just follow the information!
